We strive to ensure that our Fair Share fees remain as affordable as possible. To achieve this, we engage in fundraising activities, solicit donations from business partners, and rely on parent and student volunteers to help run the band program. All fundraisers directly affect your Fair Share, as without participation, every family would have to pay more out-of-pocket. Without fundraising, the Fair Share fee would be significantly higher.
Fair Share is a necessary expense for ALL Heritage High School (HHS) band students, including those in the Concert, Symphonic, Wind Symphony, Percussion, and Jazz Bands.
All Fair Share payments and fundraising credits are deposited into the general operating account and are used to support the HHS Band program
How We Use Fairshare
- HHS Artist in residence program fees, where students receive in-class group lessons with instrument specialists
- Guest conductors’ fees, which have a large impact on the band’s musical growth & experience
- Uniform replenish & maintenance costs (e.g., ties for all band members, tuxedo jackets, gloves, repairs, dry cleaning fees for uniforms at the end of the school year)
- Entry fees for Band festivals such as Bands of America, Clark College Jazz Festival, WindFest etc
- Band materials such as percussion supplies (mallets, drumsticks, & drum heads), sheet music, etc.
- Operating fees including PO Box, Insurance, and Charms program
